A Word From Mr. Satterly—February 4, 2021

Dear WA Community,

At Westminster Academy, we seek to build partnerships with like-minded families—those that profess Christ, value excellence, and embrace community. The process of identification and selection of mission-appropriate students and families is integral to enrollment. Likewise, enrollment, admission of new families, and retention of current students are the lifeblood of any private school. Being devoted to Christ and dedicated to excellence is not just a tagline but also the place where our school and families meet. It serves as the plumb line.

Enrollment is really a year-round activity, but it begins in earnest each January with opening registration for our current families. This year the first deadline is February 15, when the re-enrollment fee discount expires. Several grades are filling up quickly, so promptly securing your spot is important. We encourage you to log into the FACTS Family Portal to re-enroll. This week, advancement team members are out and about visiting other schools and churches, distributing enrollment materials. Currently, new applicants are being reviewed and processed.

I am also pleased to announce that our advancement team is growing. On February 15, Matt Epperson will join our team as Admissions Coordinator. Matt has an engaging story, including his love for Jesus and call to serve in Christian education. For the last several years, he has worked at the Walt Disney World Resort in various training and management capacities, including the role of Guest Experience Manager, and along the way earning a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Matt will be working out of the admissions office and be heavily engaged with new families.

We are encouraged that enrollment is higher than last year and are excited about what God is doing at our school. School leadership is engaged in several initiatives designed to strengthen people, places, and programs, building upon our 50-year legacy at Westminster Academy. We are looking forward to next year as we work together to finish this year well.

To God be the Glory!

Joel Satterly
