Sporting Clay Tournament—Next Week!

Next week, we will gather at Quail Creek Plantation in Okeechobee for the 8th Annual WA Sporting Clay Tournament presented by BBI. This fundraiser gives our community a “stay-cation,” unlike most in south Florida. On Friday, December 13, spend the day in the great outdoors! Busy highways are replaced with open fields, lined with shady trees. You’ll forget you’re just a couple hours away from the hustle and bustle. Participants enjoy a country breakfast, then fire at clay pigeons on a 14-station course, and end the event with a hearty BBQ lunch. The rocking chairs on the lodge’s porch invite you to stay and linger if you don’t want to rush home. Overnight accommodations are also available directly through Quail Creek Plantation.

The registration fee is $300 per shooter, $1100 per foursome, and student entry is $125. However, all minors must be accompanied by a participating parent. If you do not own a shotgun, you will be able to rent one from Quail Creek and purchase ammunition. All skill levels are welcome to participate!

The proceeds will benefit students through our Annual Fund, which invests in people, strengthens programs, and enhances places on our campuses. Visit wa.edu/clay to register and view sponsorship levels. Please contact the Director of Development, Sarah Hajduk, at hajduks@wa.edu or 954.771.4600, ext. 2504 with any questions.
