Operation Christmas Child—Items Due Tomorrow!

Every year the Lower School Student Council prayerfully seeks opportunities to serve others. For the second year, students will demonstrate God’s love through Operation Christmas Child. This Samaritan’s Purse project shares the Good News of Jesus Christ in a tangible way. They deliver shoeboxes filled with gifts to children in need around the world.

Lower school classes will collect items through Friday, November 8. Please remember that items should be for children ages 2–14 and can be for girls, boys, or both. Each grade level should bring in the following items:

  • Preschool and Kindergarten: Play figures, balls, and toys like stuffed animals, dolls, action figures, balls that are small or deflated to fit with ball pumps, jump ropes, race cars, playing cards, or light-up toys (with extra batteries). All items must fit into a large shoebox.
  • First and Second Grades: School and craft supplies like paper (lined, craft, notepads), colored pencils, crayons, markers, pencils (with sharpeners), scissors, chalk, yarn, beads, rulers, fabric/felt.
  • Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades: Personal and hygiene items like brushes and combs, bandanas, socks, hats, hair ties, toothbrushes, bar soap, flip-flops, sunglasses, and washcloths.

The Lower School Student Council will be packing boxes and delivering to a drop off location the week before Thanksgiving. Then, classes will track the boxes as they travel to overseas countries with the message of Christ’s love.
