11 Apr Fourth Quarter Stewardship Update And Reminder
Current families, alumni families, grandparents, faculty and staff, and friends of WA exceeded our expectations! As of April 1, total giving for this year is $1,047,828! This total includes $56,000 for the Collaboratory. This contemporary student‐centered learning environment is STEM‐focused and age‐appropriate for both our Lower and Middle School students. In addition, this total includes $669,034 in unrestricted gifts for the Annual Fund.
Donors also gave above and beyond to support various experiences. For example, the world’s largest performing international arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe invited Fine Arts students to perform in Scotland this summer. Our robotics team qualified for the World Championship and will travel to Houston, Texas, later this month. These honors come with expenses, and the WA community has risen to the occasion!
The pursuit of excellence is costly. However, the cost of settling for the status quo comes at an even higher price. The Annual Fund serves to invest in people, strengthen programs, and enhance places on our campuses. Unrestricted gifts provide the school with the greatest flexibility. Investments in a student‐centered middle school schedule, administrative and faculty teams, continued campus renovation, and development of new programs represent key steps to meeting our goals.
The distinctive qualities that a Christian, private‐school education provides require a combination of tuition and charitable donations. We will recognize all our generous donors by listing their names or business alphabetically in The Lions’ Tale, our fiscal year‐end newsletter. To be recognized in the newsletter, donations must be received by Thursday, April 18. Please consider a tax‐deductible gift to WA by mailing a check to our school address or visiting wa.edu/donate where you may also set up a recurring gift if you prefer a monthly donation.
