Second Semester Updates

We start this new calendar year celebrating the generosity of our WA community. We raised $196,000 in year-end contributions, which brings us to 58% of our Annual Fund goal! Thank you to everyone who gave graciously, and we praise God for His provisions through His people!

Now, we turn our attention to the second half of this school year and the promising future in the years to come. In fact, even now we are preparing for the 2019–2020 school year with re-enrollment starting Friday, February 1. The completion of the Dr. Kenneth P. Wackes Media Center renovations is now just weeks away. We will keep you posted regarding the opening and dedication of this all-important hub for our students. Based on the parent feedback of a recent survey, we noted areas where we can improve or enhance.

Here are some plans and advancements that are in the works:

  • In working with SAGE Dining Services, we decided to continue the lunch program using the retail model for the 2019–2020 school year.
  • A team has been tasked with researching and recommending the optimal middle school daily schedules and courses. We expect to implement changes for next year including honors course options.
  • Working with specialists, another team has the task to enhance our Directed Studies program to best help each student excel to their full potential.
  • We look forward to hosting several finalists for the position of upper school principal in the next few weeks.

Much is happening at WA! We ask for your prayers as we strive to do it all—from lunch to lessons, and from people to programs—with excellence for God’s glory!
