Instructions For Financial Assistance Application

There are three key components of the Financial Assistance application process:

  1. FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment
  2. Step Up For Students Application (SUFS)
  3. Westminster Academy Financial Assistance Program Application

Applicants have until March 31 to submit all three components. However, the FACTS and SUFS applications should be filed by March 1 to ensure that responses from the respective organizations are received by the March 31 deadline. (Note: the FACTS application requires a completed tax return. Consequently, it is very important that tax returns be completed by March 1, as well.).

I. Prerequisites for Financial Assistance

New Students:

  • Must have applied and been accepted to Westminster Academy.
  • Registration commitment and capital fee must be paid in full.
  • Must apply for the State of Florida “Step Up For Students” Scholarship and provide either an Acceptance or Denial letter to substantiate the application.

Returning Students:

  • Re-enrollment fee must be paid in full.
  • Financial accounts with Westminster Academy must be current.
  • Must apply for the State of Florida “Step Up For Students” Scholarship and provide either an Acceptance or Denial letter to substantiate the application.

II. Preparation for Application Submission

Please gather the following documents prior to starting the application process:

  • A complete copy of your 2016 personal tax return documents.
  • A complete copy of your 2016 business tax return documents, if applicable
  • A copy of 2016 W2 forms for all working adults in the household and/or a copy of 1099’s if you are self-employed
  • Most recent paycheck stubs for all working adults in the household
  • Social Security benefits statement for each eligible individual in the household, if applicable
  • Child support and/or alimony statements
  • Mortgage and household expense information
  • Copies of your last two (2) car payments statements for all vehicles.
  • If you are separated, divorced, or re-married, a copy of the documents listed above is required for all parties.

III. FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment

Please complete the FACTS online application.

  • After completing the FACTS application, please scan and upload the required documents listed above to FACTS. You can also fax documents to FACTS Grant and Aid at 866.315.9264. (Note: all uploaded documents will be forwarded by FACTS to Westminster Academy.)
  • Your FACTS application will be reviewed by the FACTS Grant and Aid team, and a recommendation will be available to our office within 2-3 weeks after receiving all supporting documents.

IV. Step Up For Students Scholarship Application

Step Up For Students Scholarships (SUFS):
“Step Up For Students” is a state-approved scholarship funding organization that helps administer scholarships for Florida schoolchildren. The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program (FTC) was created to benefit children whose educational options are limited by household income.

Westminster Academy requires all Financial Assistance applicants to also apply for the State of Florida “Step Up For Students” Scholarship and provide either an Acceptance or Denial letter to substantiate the application.

V. Westminster Academy Financial Assistance Application

Please download and complete the Westminster Academy Financial Assistance Application.

  • Please follow the directions on the form and complete every question thoroughly even if requested by the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment
  • After completing the application, please scan and email to selbachc@wa.edu, or mail to: Westminster Academy, 5601 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308, or drop off the application in the WA Business Office, attention Courtney Selbach.
