A Look Into Spring Sports

March 3, 2016 Posted in: Athletics Tags: , , ,

Spring SportsAs the third quarter comes to an end spring sports begin to reach the middle of their seasons.  Here is a look into the Spring Sports:

  • The ladies softball team is off to a terrific start with a 6-2 record. The girls have proved to be an offensive threat this season already scoring 56 runs in their first 5 games.  Countless more are being added on each week. They also have solid defense behind pitchers Jaime Davis and Jenny Jacob. The WA Lady lions intend to make a deep run into the post season.
  • The men’s baseball team is gaining momentum.  They are off to a 4-3 start.  As Thomas Dorfman and Zach Warenius lead this great team they look to be a serious threat in districts.  Sophomore Corey Acton and Junior Ramon RaPual are leading the team offensively. Both are batting over 400.
  • The ladies water polo team is still undefeated.  Their latest victory against district rival Fort Lauderdale High School has given them the confidence that they will be district champions.
  • The men’s water polo is also having a fantastic season.  This Tuesday, March 1, they lost a tough game to district rivalsFort Lauderdale High School.  They look to rebound behind the arm of Adam Warters and the goalie skills of Billy Bevil.  They play tonight against American Heritage.
  • The WA track team is looking ahead to an exciting season.
