Family Care Committee

August 22, 2017 Posted in: School News Tags: , , ,

PTF-LogoThe mission of the Westminster Academy Parent Teacher Fellowship is to encourage community and fellowship between parents, teachers, and students and to provide opportunities by which the parents and faculty can come alongside one another in Christian fellowship and service. It is our hope we can illustrate the love of Christ especially when a WA family is walking through a devastating situation such as a death, illness, or hospitalization. At these times, the Parent Teacher Fellowship Family Care Committee reaches out to these WA families.

If you have the heart to help, please purchase a Publix or local restaurant gift card in the amount of $25 or more, and leave it with any of the WA school offices Attn: PTF Family Care. If you, or someone you know, find yourself in a situation needing prayer and some assistance, please email us at familycare@wa.edu, and we will respond with a card, prayers, and support.

We thank you in advance for your willingness to serve alongside us.  One of the greatest privileges we have as Christians is to lift one another up during trying times, and we pray that PTF Family Care will bless and encourage our hurting families during their time of need.

Desserts & Parent Volunteers Needed

April 27, 2017 Posted in: School News Tags: ,

Teacher AppreciationDuring Teacher Appreciation Week on Friday, May 5, the WA Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) is planning a luncheon to honor our teachers. Every year this event is a blessing to our teachers and staff. The luncheon is fully catered except for desserts. If you can bring in a homemade dessert the morning of Friday, May 5, it would be greatly appreciated. PTF Volunteers will be at the Lower School drop-off line to collect all baked goods. Upper School students can bring their baked goods to the office. Specialty desserts or family favorites are preferable.

Please sign-up to bring a dessert or volunteer to serve at this event. Thank you for serving our school community!

37th Annual Christmas Boutique Recap

November 10, 2016 Posted in: School News Tags: , , ,

The 37th Annual Christmas Boutique and Craft Market was a great success and has become a South Florida Christmas tradition the community anticipates to kick off the holiday season. Nearly 90 vendors, including nine students with booths in the Kids’ Korner, set up shop in the Kennedy Fellowship Hall on November 4 and 5. Several booths sold 100% handmade items, and the Bakery Shoppe is always a favorite spot.

The Fine Arts Department provided lunch and hosted a Classic Car Show to raise funds for their trip to the Bahamas. The live performances by the A Cappella Choir and the Orchestra students Friday evening added to the holiday atmosphere and were very much appreciated by all of our guests. Special thanks to our Parent Teacher Fellowship, numerous volunteers, and Christmas Boutique co-chairs, Melissa Scasserra and Ramona Neuman, for all their hard work in organizing this event. It truly is a team effort, and without everyone’s support and dedication, we would not be able to put on a successful Christmas Boutique year after year!  We are also grateful to Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church for allowing us to use Kennedy Fellowship Hall and our wonderful facilities team for all their efforts preparing for this annual holiday event.
