Join Us For One Cup — November 2

OneCupLogoOur Parent Teacher Fellowship welcomes you to join Mr. Satterly for coffee and pastries on Thursday, November 2, at 8:00 a.m. in Gangway (entry from the SW corner of the church). This new quarterly event, designed for busy parents, is an opportunity to gather in an informal setting to discuss a parenting topic in about the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee, immediately following drop-off. Mr. Satterly’s first topic will be technology, as he shares reflections from The Tech-Wise Family, by Andy Crouch. We will end promptly at 8:30 a.m. to honor your time, but you are welcome to stay beyond that time to connect with Mr. Satterly and other parents.

Special thanks to our neighbor at west campus, The Atlantic Cypress Creek for sponsoring this event. For further information, contact Sarah Hajduk, Director of Development, at hajduks@wa.edu or 954.771.4615, ext. 2504.

WA Welcomes New Parents At Breakfast

August 31, 2017 Posted in: School News Tags: , , , , ,

Written by Daniel Lafferty ’18Screen Shot 2017-08-31 at 1.05.30 PM

On Wednesday, August 30, new parents gathered in the Kennedy Fellowship Hall to share breakfast together and learn about the new journey that their family is about to embark on at Westminster Academy. The new parents were greeted by WA’s talented senior, Olivia Gaus, beautifully playing the violin, followed by 8th-grade student, Pauline Baxter, who sang “Unstoppable God” while playing the piano. WA seniors, Jessica Nava and Chase Perry, presented their personal testimonies about the impact WA has made on their lives. Parents then had the opportunity to hear from Mr. Satterly and our principals, Mr. Critch and Mrs. Wood. Parent Teacher Fellowship Chairs, Martin and Melissa Scasserra, shared how families can get involved and their personal story about their engagement at WA. Overall it was a great time for new parents to not only meet each other but also to spend time with WA leadership and staff.
