November Stewardship And Development Update

November 30, 2017 Posted in: School News Tags: , , , ,

In the next week, you will receive our calendar year-end newsletter in the mail highlighting the accomplishments of our students and recognizing those who have made a contribution to our school. Our two primary fundraising goals this year are raising $350,000 for tuition assistance and raising an additional $500,000 for the renovation of the Dr. Kenneth P. Wackes Media Center.

As of November 29, our total giving for this year is $191,375 with $87,000 designated for tuition assistance. Our fundraising theme for the 2017-18 school year is “All In”, and we hope you will consider joining with us by pledging or giving a year-end donation in December to help us meet our goals.

To make a donation or set up a pledge/recurring gift, please visit wa.edu/donate or mail a check to our school address. Please contact Sarah Hajduk, Director of Development, at hajduks@wa.edu or 954.771.4615, ext. 2504 for more information about how you can support WA. Thank you for supporting Westminster Academy this school year with your prayers, time, and financial gifts!

Screen Shot 2016-11-17 at 8.39.42 AMGiving Tuesday, which began in 2012, is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Champion your favorite cause at WA by selecting your designation: Annual Fund Financial Assistance, Dr. Kenneth P. Wackes Media Center Renovation, Robotics, Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, or the Area of Greatest Need (Unrestricted). When you donate online at www.wa.edu/donate, you will receive an email with a link to share. We hope that you will consider making a gift to WA and share your support for our school on social media.

Join Us For One Cup — November 2

OneCupLogoOur Parent Teacher Fellowship welcomes you to join Mr. Satterly for coffee and pastries on Thursday, November 2, at 8:00 a.m. in Gangway (entry from the SW corner of the church). This new quarterly event, designed for busy parents, is an opportunity to gather in an informal setting to discuss a parenting topic in about the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee, immediately following drop-off. Mr. Satterly’s first topic will be technology, as he shares reflections from The Tech-Wise Family, by Andy Crouch. We will end promptly at 8:30 a.m. to honor your time, but you are welcome to stay beyond that time to connect with Mr. Satterly and other parents.

Special thanks to our neighbor at west campus, The Atlantic Cypress Creek for sponsoring this event. For further information, contact Sarah Hajduk, Director of Development, at hajduks@wa.edu or 954.771.4615, ext. 2504.
