Lions’ Den School Store Has New WA Spirit Wear

The Lion’s Den regular hours are:

  • Tuesdays 2:45 to 3:15 p.m.
  • Thursdays 7:45 to 8:15 a.m.


Middle School Spelling Bee

LiamOn Wednesday, January 24, the Middle School gathered in the gym for the annual Middle School Spelling Bee. This year, out of the 15 students who competed—five representatives from each grade—the seventh grade seemed to dominate. Seventh-grade champion, Liam McGill, won the final round with the word “unpropitious.” Liam will go on to represent our school at the district level spelling bee on March 13. We’re rooting for you Liam!

This package includes a two-night/three-day stay for two at the beautiful Breakers in Palm Beach, a golf twosome at either of their golf courses (includes green fees and cart fees), a certificate for Café Delamar, and a certificate for a West Palm Beach Food Tour.

  • The lower school grade with the most participation will have an ice cream party. Parents can donate towards the grade level basket, donate a $25 gift card/item or acquire a gift certificate/item for the auction.
  • All middle school students who acquire a $25 gift certificate or item for the auction will be allowed to wear jeans on a designated day in February.
  • All high school students who make a donation of a $25 gift card/item or acquire a gift certificate/item for the auction will receive community service hours. Two hours will be awarded for each $25 gift card/item with a maximum of 6 community service hours.

Moms In Prayer Special Prayer Meeting

momsinprayerMoms in Prayer invite you to a special morning of prayer on Friday, January 26, at 8:00 a.m. in the DeVos Chapel. This time is dedicated to praying for our school, faculty, and children.
Our WA Moms in Prayer group join moms from 140 countries to pray for the lives of our children with Moms in Prayer InternationalAll moms are invited to cover the school in prayer with this worldwide mission: 
  • To pray that our children will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, then stand boldly in their faith
  • To pray for our teachers and school staff
  • To provide support and encouragement to our moms who carry heavy burdens for their children
  • To be an encouragement and a positive support to our school

One Cup with Mr. Satterly—February 1

OneCupLogoOur Parent Teacher Fellowship welcomes you to join Mr. Satterly for coffee and pastries on Thursday, February 1, at 8:00 a.m. in Gangway (entry from the southwest corner of the church). This quarterly event, designed for busy parents, is an opportunity to gather in an informal setting to discuss a parenting topic in about the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee, immediately following drop-off. We will end promptly at 8:45 a.m. to honor your time, but you are welcome to stay beyond that time to connect with Mr. Satterly and other parents.

Mr. Satterly will be sharing thoughts from Good Faith by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons. The authors guide fellow Christians to understand the heart behind opposing views and show them how to be loving, life-giving friends despite profound differences. Sponsor A Recycling Bin

The club is devoted to promoting recycling and caring for the resources God has provided. Students receive service hours for emptying the recycling bins each week in shifts. Sponsorships from both companies and dedicated individuals, as well as student-organized fundraisers, will help pay for the cost of the recycling bins and pick-up fees.

Please consider sponsoring a bin on campus for $500. Your commitment as a sponsor enables the Green Club to educate our community about caring for our environment and take action to generate less waste and teach students to recycle. In appreciation for your support, your business or family name will be recognized on the recycling bin label. The school store is stocked with the items that rose to the top of the list and open on Tuesdays from 2:45 p.m. through 3:15 p.m. and Thursdays from 7:45 a.m. through 8:15 a.m.

This Thursday, January 18, the store will also be open from 2:45 p.m. through 3:15 p.m. so you can get the latest apparel for Spirit Day tomorrow!
