Paige Sansbury Places Third In The “Art in the Capitol” Competition

IMG_0056 2Congratulations to seventh-grade student, Paige Sansbury, for winning third place in the “Art in the Capitol” competition! The “Art in the Capitol” competition is a statewide visual arts competition that has each school district annually hold an art competition for all students grades 6 through 8 attending public schools, private schools, and home education.

Register now for the 6th Annual WA Sporting Clay Tournament presented by BBI on Friday, December 1, at Quail Creek Plantation in Okeechobee. Warm-up and breakfast begin at 9:00 a.m. and tournament play will start at 10:00 a.m. Teams take a golf cart around a course of fourteen stations with each participant shooting at four clay pigeons per station. Lunch and the awards ceremony will follow the tournament at 1:00 p.m. If you do not own a shotgun, you will be able to rent one from Quail Creek.

All skill levels are welcome to participate! The registration fee is $300 per shooter or $1,100 for a foursome. Our participant gift this year is a dry-fit long sleeve shirt, so we ask that you please register by Monday, November 20, to ensure you receive the appropriate shirt size. All proceeds will be designated for the student financial assistance fund. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $200 and provide great marketing exposure to our school community. College Financial Planning 101—Monday, November 6

college-savings3Save the date! Parents of students of all ages, join us for College Planning 101 on Monday, November 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Fellowship Hall. WA alumni, Philip Piedt ’07 of Benchmark Financial and John Novoa ’02 of Thrivent Financial, will be sharing strategies for saving and preparing for higher education. Early preparation is key, so we encourage parents of preschoolers through seniors to attend. As a college preparatory school, we are excited to offer this event presented by our alumni who want to give back to their alma mater which laid a foundation for the success they experience today.
