The inaugural AP Capstone Presentation and Oral Defense took place on April 19. This was the culmination of the AP Capstone diploma program from the College Board for four special WA seniors: Alicia An, Julia Andert, Amanda Collins, and Jade McCurvin. Last year, unfortunately, WA's AP Research students were not able to perform their PODs due to COVID-19 restrictions and WA's school closure. On March 26 and 27, the Fine Arts Department presented an outstanding performance of the musical, Little Women. The character development, singing, and choreography certainly put our talented students on display. There was barely a dry eye as the audience watched this mesmerizing production and incredible students perform very moving numbers on stage. Furthermore, the school musical had a faculty investment as well. Laura Groves spearheaded the beginnings of blocking scenes and students memorizing their lines, while Rachel Cox was on maternity leave. Neil Nelson and Lisa Wilson expertly taught the music to the cast, while Sonja Timmer constructed the set....

The High School Spring Musical production of Little Women is well into rehearsals, with an incredibly talented cast, led by the amazing Dr. Laura Groves and our student director, Maxine Seelig. This wonderful production will grace the stage on Friday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Malia Erlich, our student stage manager is already well into finding props and preparing for the set.
