Every year, the National Football Foundation hosts the Brian Piccolo Award Banquet. This awards dinner pays tribute to the late Brian Piccolo, a standout football player for St. Thomas Aquinas, Wake Forest, and the NFL with the Chicago Bears. In addition, it gathers 40 senior student-athletes from Broward County schools who excelled both academically and on the football field. Last week, senior Donovan Lassiter would have attended.
