Christmas At Coral Ridge—Sounds Of The Season

The eighty voice Concert Choir, angelic Coral Ridge youth choirs and symphony orchestra, led by Matthew McMurrin, will surround you with the glorious sounds of Christmas. Featured soloists will include the talented Kerrie Roberts and Bernie Gonzalez. This concert event, complete with a live nativity, is at the top of everyone’s Christmas list! Make Christmas at Coral Ridge a part of your Christmas tradition today!

Auction Meeting—December 5

aa-auction-logoPlease join us on Tuesday, December 5, at 8:00 a.m. in the Lower School Media Center for an auction planning meeting. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. This year’s annual dinner auction, Adventure Awaits, will be held on Friday, March 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Fellowship Hall.

This is the largest fundraising event of the year, so please get involved! All proceeds will be designated for the Dr. Kenneth P. Wackes Media Center renovation. Click here to download the acquisition letter and form to solicit items. Some businesses may be more likely to donate at year-end, so it is never too early to start! Restaurant gift cards, spa certificates, hotel stays and unique experiences are always guest favorites. Lessons & Carols—A Westminster Academy Christmas Program

Screen Shot 2017-11-16 at 10.10.31 AMThe Westminster Academy High School Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, and Choirs will be present a special Christmas program, “Lessons & Carols,” on Tuesday, December 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church.

The program is based on “A Festival of Lessons and Carols” first held on Christmas Eve in 1918 at King’s College in England.

Over the years the order service has been adapted and presented by many schools and churches around the world. The combination of great Christmas music, traditional carols, and Christmas lessons have been an inspiration millions.

Please save the date and plan to attend our adaptation of the original “Festival of Lessons and Carols” at Westminster Academy. Admission is free.

Robert Louis Stevenson Day

first-gradeThe first grade celebrated the Scottish author, Robert Louis Stevenson’s birthday on Monday, November 13, at the Annual Our Children’s Garden of Verses Recitation! The morning began with full fanfare with our favorite bagpiper. As much as we love our authors of the month, they all point us to the Author and Perfecter of our faith! (Hebrews 12:2)

Register now for the 6th Annual WA Sporting Clay Tournament presented by BBI on Friday, December 1, at Quail Creek Plantation in Okeechobee. Warm-up and breakfast begin at 9:00 a.m. and tournament play will start at 10:00 a.m. Teams take a golf cart around a course of fourteen stations with each participant shooting at four clay pigeons per station. Lunch and the awards ceremony will follow the tournament at 1:00 p.m. If you do not own a shotgun, you will be able to rent one from Quail Creek.

All skill levels are welcome to participate! The registration fee is $300 per shooter or $1,100 for a foursome. Our participant gift this year is a dry-fit long sleeve shirt, so we ask that you please register by Monday, November 20, to ensure you receive the appropriate shirt size. All proceeds will be designated for the student financial assistance fund. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $200 and provide great marketing exposure to our school community.
