Purchase Tickets For The Auction Next Friday!

Screen Shot 2018-02-21 at 1.38.15 PMCome Away with WA for our annual dinner auction next Friday, March 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Fellowship Hall at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $40 per guest or $350 for a table of ten. If you are unable to attend, you may register to bid from anywhere. (Live auction and fixed priced items excluded.) Online registration will close next Wednesday, February 28 at 10:00 p.m., so please visit wa.edu/auction today to purchase tickets and preview items! This week’s featured item is a Fox Sports Behind the Scenes Experience!

Our auction theme is Adventure Awaits, so dress for your dream destination, but most importantly be you and be comfortable! Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church is providing on-site childcare available for PK3 through 5th-grade children for $15 (includes dinner). Reservations must be made in advance at crpc.org/auctionchildcare.

We have already raised over $20,000 through corporate sponsors and would like to recognize our Title Sponsor, Freeman Orthodontics, and First Class Sponsors, A2 Events and Tabletop. All proceeds raised at the auction will be designated to fund the complete renovation of the Dr. Kenneth P. Wackes Media Center, benefitting every Lower and Upper School student. This week’s featured item is a New York City Getaway! Enjoy three nights at The Dominick in a one bedroom family suite located on one of the hotel’s top floors, offering breathtaking views of the Hudson River and New York City skyline.

Tomorrow, February 16, is the deadline for students to receive participation credit for acquiring an item or gift card. Download the acquisition form here.

  • The lower school grade with the most participation will have an ice cream party.
  • All middle school students who acquire or make a donation will be allowed to wear jeans on March 2.
  • All high school students who acquire or make a donation of a $25 gift card/item will receive two hours of community service for each $25 gift card/item with a maximum of 6 community service hours.

Adventure Awaits At The WA Auction

924-220x220-whiteJoin us for our annual dinner auction, Adventure Awaits, on Friday, March 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Fellowship Hall! Reserve your tickets or table here. If you are unable to attend the auction and would like to bid from anywhere on your phone, you have the option to purchase an absentee bidder ticket.

The bidding began this week when the class baskets were on display in the Lower School hallway. Parents arrived on Wednesday, February 7, for Teacher Conferences, and they also had the opportunity to view the whole collection of baskets and place a bid. The bidding on these baskets will resume Friday, March 2 during the silent auction. If a basket isn’t adventurous enough for you, how about a Helicopter Ride?  If you’ve ever wanted to view Fort Lauderdale’s beach and the Intracoastal Waterway from the sky, this is your chance! The winning bid will take three people on a 30-minute sightseeing tour in the Robinson R-44.

It’s the final week to acquire items for the auction. For students to receive participation credit, items or a completed acquisition form must be turned in by Friday, February 16. Download the acquisition form here.

Third Grade Spelling Bee

IMG_6340On Tuesday, February 6 our third grade competed in their spelling bee. The students were well-prepared and excited to show their spelling expertise. After 17 rounds of intense competition, Nicholas Sirois won the spelling bee. Words that were spelled correctly and led to the final round were: “administration,” “regents,” and “tearjerker.” Olivia Faber came in second place, and Nola Fontaine won third place.

Junior Class Car Wash—February 10

Support the Junior Class as they raise money for the Junior/Senior Banquet. The class will be holding a car wash on Saturday, February 10 from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the lower school pick up line driveway. A $5 minimum donation is requested.

Students are selling tickets, but you are welcome to just show up on Saturday.

Our featured item this week is a Hurricane Impact Rated Front Door!  Living in South Florida, this auction item is a must-have. The winner will be given a number of doors to choose from, free installation, and the peace of mind their home is ready for the next hurricane season. The door and installation were graciously donated by All American Windows and Doors, an alumni-owned company.

Marriage Seminar At Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church

Most couples do not know “how” to be married. This seminar, Adventures in Marriage, helps couples discover better ways to meet one another’s needs, communicate, resolve conflicts, express anger, avoid dirty fighting, and understand how their personality styles impact relationships for better or worse. Fun, practical, and easy to learn, Adventures in Marriage is a workshop or small group curriculum appropriate for couples at any age or stage. The program is designed to reach couples across the spectrum—from happy and highly motivated to struggling and highly stressed. This seminar combines Christian principles with the latest research to provide specific, practical, attainable skills for a successful marriage. Come learn how to create the marriage you have always wanted with the spouse you already have!
