Homecoming Festivities!

October 22, 2015 Posted in: School News Tags: , , , ,

Untitled-1 copyThere was no school on Friday, October 16, as we concluded the first quarter of the school year for middle and lower school students. However, not everyone was away or off campus. Several groups of students came to school to decorate the hallways to reflect their themes for the 2015 Homecoming Week.

In keeping with WA traditions, there was a variety of activities planned for the week. Throughout the Upper School the levels of creativity from the students was quite diverse. Many students could be observed in very obvious costumes which clearly related to that particular day’s theme while others challenged their peers’ imaginations with their unique twist on certain costume ideas.

  • Friday will also be a fun-filled day for the students as they will show their spirit and gather in the gym for a Pep rally.
  • Friday evening our Lions football team will take on Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. at the west campus Athletic Complex.
  • Prior to the game, WA Alumni will enjoy fellowship and dinner and induct Alumni into the Hall of Fame under the west pavilion.
  • At halftime, the entire Homecoming Court will be introduced and the king and queen will be crowned.
  • Following the game, the alumni will take on the faculty in a game of flag football.

Voting ballots were distributed and the entire upper school student body voted for the Homecoming king and queen, which will be announced on Friday, October 23, during halftime of the Homecoming football game. Please see the list of those on the court below.
