Calendar Year-End Gift To WA

December 14, 2017 Posted in: School News Tags:

All-In-289This is a special time of the year with Christmas programs, parties, and time with family celebrating the birth of our Savior. As you consider gifts this Christmas, please consider a year-end gift to WA. Our two primary fundraising goals this year are raising $350,000 for tuition assistance and raising an additional $500,000 for the complete renovation of the Dr. Kenneth P. Wackes Media Center, which will benefit all students from preschool through twelfth grade.

Our fundraising theme for the 2017-18 school year is “All In,” and we hope you will consider joining with us by pledging or giving a year-end donation in December to help us meet our goals. Regardless of the size of your donation, your participation increases our opportunity to receive grants from foundations as they see our community’s excitement for what is happening at our school. All donations are appreciated and tax-deductible.

To make a donation or set up a pledge/recurring gift, please visit wa.edu/donate or mail a check to our school address. Please contact Sarah Hajduk, Director of Development, at hajduks@wa.edu or 954.771.4615, ext. 2504 if you would like a copy of our detailed proposal for the media center renovation or would like more information on how you can support WA.

*Note that you may also give non-cash gifts such as appreciated securities, mutual funds, real estate, and jewelry. You’ll pay less tax, give more, improve your cash flow, and have the chance to re-balance your portfolio—tax-free! Click here for a short video on asset-based giving.

WA Middle School Robotics Team 11204 Competes In Second Tournament

December 14, 2017 Posted in: School News Tags: , ,

IMG_2146What an exciting and challenging day Team 11204 Shark A-Tech had at Poinciana STEM School for their second robotics tournament! We had several matches where we performed well, and a few that pushed the team beyond their limits, but the team handled the challenges with humor and perseverance. During our last match when our alliance member flipped themselves onto their side during the autonomous period, and our drive team made up of Robert Loucks, Jordan Yu, and Layton McCartney, went to their aid and righted their robot! What an amazing display of not only gracious professionalism but Christlike character. Click here to view a video of the competition. Well done middles school robotics!
