WA Wins Sunshine Cup All-Sports Award!

fhsaav1_logoStellar performances by WA’s athletic program in the 2016–2017 school year have led to a first-place finish in the Boys Division of the Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Award presented by the Florida High School Athletic Association! State Championships won by Varsity Boys Cross Country, Basketball, and Track & Field sealed the lead by an overwhelming margin. Points are awarded to the 707 member high schools based on finishes in the FHSAA State Series competitions.

We will be celebrating this athletic achievement in a special assembly next Thursday, September 28, at 2:30 p.m. in the WA gymnasium. Parents are invited to attend.

College Athletic Recruiting Seminar

WA-Athletics-289-186The Westminster Academy Athletic Department will be hosting a College Recruiting Seminar on Monday, August 28, at 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.

This assembly is for all student-athletes grades 7 through 12 and their parents. The WA Athletic Department will address NCAA requirements, policies, and will present vital information regarding the college recruiting process. The evening will include WA head coaches and student-athletes who have experienced the different aspects of recruiting. There will also be handouts and a Q&A time with athletic directors and coaches.

Stadium-Style Reserved Seating

Lions-HeadWe are looking forward to another exciting year in athletics at WA. We will be offering the stadium-style box seating in the gymnasium and football stadium again to help raise funds for the basketball, cheer, football, and volleyball programs. This special seating is an excellent opportunity to help raise extra funds for our athletic programs as well as provide a comfortable and unique athletic experience for our parents, grandparents, and fans.

There are forty-eight (48) box seats in the stadium, and there are forty-eight (48) box seats in the gymnasium. Below you will find the purchase price for the box seats for the 2017-2018 basketball, cheer, football, and volleyball seasons as well as various buying options.

The following levels are available for purchase:

  • Blue Level—Three Sports (Football*, Volleyball, & Basketball*)
    $500 donation (Two reserved seats)
    $50 for each additional seat
  • White Level—Any Two Sports (Football*, Volleyball, & Basketball*)
    $400 donation (Two reserved seats)
    $50 for each additional seat
  • Red Level—Any One Sport (Football*, Volleyball, or Basketball*)
    $300 donation (Two reserved seats)
    $50 for each additional seat

*Please note that cheer program will receive a portion of the funds raised for football and basketball seasons.
