swimmingMany of our top swimmers and divers competed at the 54th annual Woodson Invitational this past Saturday against teams from all across Florida including swimming powerhouse Jacksonville Bolles School and Winter Park High. The highlight of the meet came in the form of double wins for both Jessica Nava and Chase Perry. The seniors beat an impressive field in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle. Other highlights included freshman Blake Shaw finishing in second place in diving with a new personal best, JoJo Richter making finals in both the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke, and Andy Brantmeyer scoring in the 500 freestyle. Our relay teams consisting of Jessica Nava, JoJo Richter, Maddie Sipowski, and Mia Hibler for the girls and Chase Perry, Trent Shaw, Christian Henderson, Adam Warters, and Noah Sipowski for the boys also scored well and had season-best times. The team will travel to Vero Beach and Melbourne this weekend for two meets and will conclude their regular season next Thursday with Senior Night against Calvary Christian Academy. Way to go Lions!
