WA Field Day For Lower School

February 15, 2018 Posted in: Athletics Tags:

field-dayStudents from kindergarten to third grade enjoyed a beautiful day on the field Monday, February 12, while participating in this year’s WA Field Day. This event was a huge success that allowed the students to compete in various activities and games against other classmates from their grade. While there was still an element of competitiveness, this year’s event was to promote physical activity, instead of solely on winning each event.

The students competed in the following events:

    • An obstacle course
    • Sack and three-legged races
    • Sports-themed games
    • Relay races
    • Jump roping and hula hoop

Thank you to Coach Lewis, Coach Wheeler, and all of the parent volunteers who made the event possible.

February 12, 2018 Posted in: Athletics Tags: ,

Zach-IMG_4552On Varsity Men’s Basketball Senior Night this past Thursday, February 8, Senior Zach Scott was honored for setting a new school record. Zach has now surpassed 2,500 points in his WA playing career, making him the all-time points leader in Westminster Academy basketball history. Heading into Thursday’s game, Zach had 2,582 points, breaking the record set by his Coach Ehren Wallhoff.

“Zach has firmly planted himself among the all-time best in Westminster Academy history,” Athletic Director, Tony DeMare, said. “Since beginning his Varsity Basketball career in November 2013, Zach has established himself as one of State’s best players. His leadership skills are a great complement to his playing ability.”

Zach has received numerous honors such as First Team All-County, First Team All-State, Player of the Year, and last year, a State Champion. Coach Wallhoff presented Zach with a souvenir ball commemorating this historic moment.

Congratulations to Zach Scott and thank you for the memories!
