Olivia Gaus, a senior at WA, has been honored by the Rotary Club of North Lauderdale as the Rotary Student of the Month. This is an extremely prestigious recognition that is given to two students from our school each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. To be chosen for this recognition, the student must show exceptional qualities in the areas of academics, leadership, and most of all, community service. Olivia has been involved in the key club throughout high school and is the chairman of the Alzheimer’s visits for NHS this year. Recognized students are invited to the Rotary Club luncheon where they hear speakers from around the area, and get to share their own experiences. “I felt honored to be there. Since it is a service organization, it was cool to be recognized for the service I’ve done over the past few years and to be able to share that with them!” Olivia said.
