Players were nominated by their local high school coaches. Coach Diego had this to say about the players he nominated:

  • Patrick: Patrick has been a starter for the Varsity Boys since first coming to WA in the 9th grade and captained this team the last two years. As a forward and midfielder, Patrick has led the team in assists all four years and in scoring the last two years netting over 50 goals in 4 seasons. He was All-County 1st Team for the Sun-Sentinel and The Miami Herald the last two years and 2nd team as a Freshman and Sophomore. Patrick recently played in the FACA Florida All-Star Classic representing the south. Patrick also played for the State of Florida in the ODP (Olympic Development Program) and was selected to the southeast Region III team.  Patrick’s club team has been the Fort Lauderdale F.C. and the Boca Juniors. In addition to playing soccer, Patrick captained and led the WA Cross Country team to their first State Championship since 1988 as he finished 9th in the state at the meet. Patrick also runs for the track & Field team and finished 2nd in the state in the 800m run last year while at the same time breaking the school record in the 800m.  He will attend Division 1 Gardner-Webb University on an athletic and academic scholarship in the Fall playing soccer and running for their track and field team.
  • Reagan: Reagan came to WA in the 11th grade, he came out to soccer and immediately earned a starting spot as a defender and grew in that position over the last two seasons. Reagan was known for both his long and lethal throw-ins but also for his dominating play in the air and his physical play on the ground. Reagan recently played in the FACA Florida All-Star Classic representing the south. In addition to soccer, Reagan runs for WA’s track and field team as a hurdler and high jumper. He will be attending the University of West Florida where he hopes to play soccer with his older brother who is the goalkeeper.
  • Travis: Travis has been a 4-year starter on the Boys Varsity playing outside back and central defender as well as holding midfield and was a Co-Captain on the team the last two seasons.  Travis has scored several goals and contributed offensively, but he is known and respected for his strong and tireless defensive play which has frustrated many opponents over the years.  Over the course of his career at WA, Travis has been named to the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel All-County Honorable Mention and 2nd team and recently played in the FACA Florida All-Star Classic representing the south. Travis has played club soccer for Fort Lauderdale F.C. and Team Boca.  In addition to playing soccer, Travis has played water polo for the Lions the last four years.  Travis is presently considering different options for college and hopes to play soccer at the next level.

The games were played at The Villages Charter High School on 10th and 11th between 4 teams of the best seniors representing the north, south, east, and west regions.
