23 Feb Kindergarten Farm Day
If you looked in the kindergarten classrooms last Friday, February 19, you wouldn’t have seen any children, instead, you would have only seen farmers! That’s because it was Farm Day. Children got to visit each kindergarten classroom and learn something about what a farmer does on his farm. The farmers in training got to try their hand at milking, learning about the life cycle of a chicken, and writing about all of the chores a farmer must do each day on the farm. We enjoyed several of our favorite farm themed books, like Mrs. Wishy Washy.
We enjoyed several of our favorite farm themed books, like Mrs. Wishy Washy, Giggle Giggle Quack, and Big Red Barn, and of course, we had to sing, Old MacDonald had a Farm. We even had a farm snack of animal crackers and chocolate pudding, pretending as if they were the characters from a book called, Mrs. Wishy Washy, which is about farm animals who jump in the mud and need a good scrub by the farmer’s wife. The little farmers were exhausted by the end of the day, because of all the jobs a farmer has to do on the farm. The next time we see a farmer we are going to thank him for all of his hard work.
