sharksChristian and Derek Petrisko, along with other members of their conservation club were invited by the Guy Harvey Research Institute, working with Nova Southeastern University and the Shark Whisperer Organization, to tag sharks last month. The boys were responsible for baiting the hooks, reeling in the sharks, measuring them, collecting tissue samples, and placing research tags on the sharks’ dorsal fins before releasing them. The sharks were never taken out of the water. They tagged 3 nurse sharks, 2 sand bar sharks, and one hammerhead.
